Anything Goes Musical at Timber Creek High School
Orlando, Florida, January 7, 2010 - Where’s the only place where crowd-pleasing criminals, descendants of gypsies, and tap-dancing sailors collide? On board the S.S. American cruise liner in Cole Porter’s hilarious and heart-warming classic Anything Goes. Fall head over heels with this romantic musical comedy about catching love before the wrong love catches you. With passengers ranging from snooty debutantes, incognito gangsters, and love-struck stowaways, find your “sea-legs” in this performance full of excitement and laughter.
Beginning on March 18th 2010, Timber Creek High School Thespians will open their rendition of the 1934 hit musical. Directed by Elizabeth Horn and led musically by Choral Director Sean Linfors, this production features talented high school students from the drama, chorus, and orchestra departments at Timber Creek. Senior Anthony Narciso steps up to the challenge of designing the set for this complicated show. “I’ve put a lot of research into the visual aspects of the 1930s era. This show is going to be an amazing jazz and art deco-themed world created on stage,” Narciso proclaims.
Heading up the cast of forty is senior Elisha McDonald as the seductive jazz-slash-gospel night club singer. A far stretch from the veteran performer’s usual roles, McDonald states: “I cried when I saw my name as Reno. I’ve always been seen as the innocent ingénue, and never get to play sexy roles, so it’ll be really exciting to play this role.”
Anything Goes opens at 7:00 on Thursday, March 18 and runs: 7:00 on Friday, March 19; 7:00 on Saturday, March 20; and 3:00 on Sunday, March 21.
